I’ve been very fortunate in my life and through hard work and chasing the dream I have visited some of the most spectacular frozen landscapes on Earth. It seems I have an affinity with extremely cold and hostile environments.

I have worked in the High Arctic, Arctic Circle, Yukon and Norway all in their respective winters. I have developed a good knowledge of working in these climates efficiently.

People always ask about frostbite. So far I have avoided this dreaded affliction and I would like to keep it that way! Having all of ones fingers is pretty useful when operating a camera…

Working with visual media you have to take the rough with the smooth when you are starting out

Throughout my career I’ve undertaken some fantastic, exciting and dynamic projects; some not so. These days I like to limit myself to one big project a year (much to my detriment financially) that I can really get under the skin of. I’m thinking of giving up the video side of things altogether in the near future.

My last major project was working with Robert Pollhammer and Montane, producing a documentary on the 2011 Yukon Arctic Ultra. This was probably the most fun I have had at work. Fantastic people, beautiful country and a compelling story. You can watch the film for free on Vimeo.

This is my bread and butter at the moment. If you’ve not seen it head on over to the Spine Race website (I’m one of the organisers) and more than likely you will be speaking to me.

I’m also working for a few adventurous types improving their media profiles. If at any point you’re thinking it’s an exciting, dynamic Wall Street like existence; let me assure you it is not.

12+ hours of hard work day in/ out but it has its rewards. One of those is meeting fantastic people who absolutely floor you with their passion for doing the things they love. The other reward is, of course, being part of an iconic British Challenge.

It can’t all be fun, can it? Actually…

Yukon Arctic Ultra

I loved the Yukon project. One of my all time favourite places on Earth. Stunning scenery, fantastic people and they have this thing called the Yukon Arctic Ultra…
